AllOne iPhone AppDavid Harlow over at the Health Blawg caught up with Microsoft SVP Peter Neupert event to discuss future plans for the company’s PHR platform HealthVault. Neupert was just finishing up at the Microsoft Connected Health. While it wasn’t a focus, mHealth did come up during the event.

Neupert told Harlow and the other reporters on the conference call that the HealthVault platform is device-agnostic and that mobile developers were in attendance at the event. The developers were concerned mostly with HIPAA issues and their potential effects on provider and patient adoption of mobile health services.

mCare AllOne Mobile appAs mobihealthnews has reported a number of times in the past, HealthVault’s key mobile partner to date has been AllOne Mobile, which is secured by Diversinet. During the past month AllOne Mobile has gained more prominence on HealthVault’s site. The company has also begun launching dedicated iPhone apps for its partners: the U.S. Army and Blue Health Solution from Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Here’s how the AppStore describes these apps:

MyHealth AllOneMyHealth Mobile, part of Blue Health Solution from Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, [provides] instant, secure access to personal health records anytime, anywhere via your mobile phone.” MyHealth Mobile app also includes a note that informs potential users that they need to be a BHS-BCNP patient with a HealthVault account to use the app.

The mCare application was created by AllOne Mobile in conjunction with the United States Army and their TELETBI initiative in order to assist wounded warriors to stay in touch with their case managers through secured messaging.”

I also participated in the conference call. I post quite heavily on devices connecting to the Healthvault as well. It was mentioned that this was a very good mix of developers with Amalga at the conference.

Devices are getting very sophisticated and you will see more in the future connecting to HealthVault as more have data reporting functions. The HealthPal, approved by the FDA has cdma and gsm capabilities without the use of a phone.

I wrote up my review of the conference call and you can read more here.
