I look at the addition of wireless technology to tools to improve health options as being so important to us all in three key areas:

1 - it gets the health care providers closer to the patient in real time;
2 - it gets the patient to take a more active role in his/her health care;
3. it will save money in both current and long term health costs.

The FDA is moving forward with the Wireless Health Initiatives Program and we all should be grateful for it. As the technology center of the world, the US has much to do to catch up with the rest of the world in the field of tele-medicine. I look forward in the near future where we take the lead in this critical and cost-essential medical market space.
