Online visits to get reimbursement: New York-based MPV Health Care plans to reimburse for more than 22,0000 physicians who use McKesson subsidiary RelayHealth’s webVisit consultations. The group has partnered with Mohawk Valley Medical Associates (MVMA) a regional, independent physician association. RelayHealth also offers results management, personal health records (PHRs), appointment scheduling and referrals, patient health education and e-prescribing. More

Wireless emergency code boxes: Cleveland area health services firm, Lakeshore Health System announced its was deploying a wireless notification system for managing emergency code boxes in hospitals and outpatient facilities. The offering, called Urgicode, uses cellular connectivity to alert medical staff members when a kit has been used or is reaching its experation date. Urgicode can also notify pharmacies when medications within the kit need to be replaced. More
