Whilst I agree that the smart mobile is very capable of swallowing up &#039;other&#039; devices I do feel that the M-PERS button device is unique in it&#039;s pure simplicity. 

IMHO This acquisition isn&#039;t indicative of the value of such a button and I think it will probably be the last device &#039;type&#039; to get swallowed up by smartphones and only once mobiles themselves become so small, power optimised, robust and easy to carry that you&#039;re not aware you&#039;re carrying them.

I&#039;ve been trialing this technology for years (see Securecom.ie) and a key feature for me is that the device doesn&#039;t converge so that the mobile can support the care of a patient who is getting out of bed in the middle of the night (eg. to visit the WC) or taking a shower etc.</description>
