Jawbone President Sameer Samat

Jawbone has hired Sameer Samat as its new president. Samat was most recently VP of Product Management at Google, where he was responsible for Google Shopping and Google Express. The news comes shortly after Jawbone announced it was working with American Express to add payment features to Jawbone devices.

Google has hired cardiologist Dr. Jessica Mega away from Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital to head up its Baseline Study as a part of its research team at Google X.

PatientsLikeMe named Michael Evers the head of its newly-formed consumer and technology group. Evers will direct the company’s marketing, engineering, user experience and design, product management, patient advocacy and government compliance teams. Evers joined the company in 2012 as EVP of Marketing.

Castlight Health has named Jonathan Rende, formerly the EVP of products and marketing at cloud app testing and analytics software provider Keynote, as its new Research and Development Officer.

Livongo Health hired Manny Hernandez as its new SVP of member experience. Hernandez, a well-known patient advocate, previously served as president of the Diabetes Hands Foundation.

Kurbo Health, which offers a mobile-enabled weight loss program for kids, has hired Mike Zhang as its Chief Marketing Officer. Zhang previously worked at Smart Destinations, AboveStress, Diet.com/Diet Health, and Procter & Gamble.

iRhythm Technologies has hired Derrick Sung, Ph.D. as EVP of global strategy and corporate development. Dr. Sung was previously a senior equity research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Company covering medical devices.
