Digital health hires: Accolade, Zillion, TigerText, and Pager

On-demand digital health concierge Accolade Health, which provides its services for employers, health plans and health systems, made several hires over the last few weeks. Two weeks ago the company appointed Dr. Ivor Horn as Chief Medical Officer. A board-certified pediatrician, Horn previously served as medical director of the Center for Diversity and Health Equity at Seattle Children's Hospital. She is also a notable speaker and researcher on the topic of health disparities, especially with regards to technology. 

"We've taken on solving some of the biggest challenges in healthcare and we're thrilled to have one of the most accomplished, forward-thinking leaders in clinical health joining us on this incredible journey," Rajeev Singh, Accolade CEO, said in a statement. "Ivor brings a passion for finding creative new ways to apply data, science and technology to improve what is a deeply personal experience of managing health. She has the right set of knowledge and experience to help us accelerate the expansion of our consumer health engagement platform and our business growth."

Accolade also announced the hires of Harish Naidu as chief technology officer and Phong Nguyen as executive vice president of product management, as reported by our sister-site Healthcare IT News. Naidu brings tech experience from Globalscholar/Scantro and from many years at Microsoft.

Norwalk, Connecticut-based Zillion, which makes a cloud-based patient engagement platform, added a Chief Experience Officer to its C-Level team. Cheryl Morrison Deutsch, who comes to Zillion via Kronos and Cloud Technology Partners, will focus solely on the consumer experience.

"We work tirelessly to create a world-class solution, and we want to ensure that we have a world-class user experience to match it. That is why we brought Cheryl on board,” Jim Boyle, chairman and CEO of Zillion, said in a statement. “Her technical knowledge, coupled with her supreme understanding of the human experience, will provide Zillion with the direction it needs to take our platform to the next level.”

Hospital communications platform TigerText has announced two new hires: Kirk Kirkman, who will serve as president of client organization, and Kelli Castellano, who has been named chief marketing officer. 

Kirkman will be responsible for sales and customer support in his new role. He most recently worked at athenahealth. Castellano will oversee the company’s marketing strategies and campaigns. Prior to TigerText, she was senior vice president of marketing and communications for NextGen Healthcare.

Digital-enabled house call service Pager has hired Dore Murphy as its new Vice President of Marketing. Murphy is an internal hire, having been promoted from the role of Director of Growth and Retention, which she took on in 2014. Prior to that she led marketing efforts at Ralph Lauren and the New York Times. The company recently raised $5.2 million in new funding.

“Dore is an exceptional leader and marketing strategist, and the right person for the job as Pager expands into new markets,” Gaspard de Dreuzy, CEO and cofounder of Pager, said in a statement.
