Health 2.0's 12th Annual Fall Conference kicks off in just over a month in Santa Clara, California, and MobiHealthNews will be onsite covering the show, along with HIMSS TV.

The conference will once again feature a Provider Symposium on Sunday, September 16th, keynoted by UPMC Chief Innovation Officer Rasu Shrestha and Virta Health CEO Sami Inkinen. Throughout the half-day event, speakers from Stanford Medical, Sutter Health, the AMA will weigh in on topics like remote patient monitoring, hospital innovation, artificial intelligence, and interoperability.

On Sunday afternoon, a small group of startups will take the stage in a battle of pitches. Health 2.0 Venture Connect, formerly known as Traction, will see two tracks of companies (consumer-facing and professional-facing) compete in front of a panel of venture capitalists and corporate investors to be crowned Startup Champion.

After Sunday's pre-conference events, Health 2.0 proper will kick off Monday the 17th. It's a day of on-stage and breakout panels, featuring representatives from Google, Walmart, Lyft, Proteus, Anthem, Oscar Health, and many digital health companies, after which day one will wrap with Health 2.0's Launch! event as 10 new companies demo their product for the first time on the Health 2.0 stage.

Also on Monday: a Government Town Hall where attendees will have an opportunity to pose questions to CMS Blue Button Innovator Mark Scrimshire and HHS Chief Data Officer Mona Siddiqui.

Tuesday kicks off with a keynote from Jane Metcalfe, cofounder of Wired and editor in chief of NEO.LIFE, who will discuss about the next digital frontier of neobiology.  

“We [are at] the dawn of what I call the neobiological revolution, which I define as the accelerating movement of ways to use technology and biology to alter the human race,” Metcalfe told MobiHealthNews. “It is also the next stage of the digital revolution.”

After that, the day will include annual panels The Unacceptables and 4 CEOs. In the former, a panel of experts will discuss some of the most potent and challenging topics in healthcare today: opioids, physician burnout and suicide, eating disorders, and emergency response to natural disasters. In the latter, attendees will hear from Doctor on Demand CEO Hill Ferguson, Medal CEO Lonnie Rae Kurlander, Evidation Health CEO Deborah Kilpatrick, and Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital CEO Elaine Batchlor. Each will sit down on stage for an intimate interview with a prominent health journalist.
