HCAH acquires digital care platform Seniority

HCAH, a health tech company in the out-of-hospital care segment in India, is expanding to elderly care with its acquisition of senior-centric digital care platform Seniority by the RPG Group.

Seniority is one of the largest elderly care platforms in India with a portfolio of more than 20,000 medical and lifestyle products for seniors. 

HCAH bought the platform to expand its presence and consumer base while addressing unmet demands from the aged care sector.

"By acquiring Seniority, our intent is to cater to all the needs and provide a one-stop shop to our rapidly growing elderly population," said CEO and co-founder Vivek Srivastava.

About 60% of HCAH's current consumer base are the elderly, to whom they provide rehabilitation, ICU and nursing, caregiver, consultation, lab and equipment services at home via its digital platform and transition care centres.

Following this acquisition, HCAH will open new stores on Seniority on a standalone basis and in its transition care centres. It also plans to offer new services such as assisted living, elderly day care, and elderly concierge services. 

Qmed Asia scores multiple partnerships in Asia

Malaysian telehealth startup Qmed Asia has recently signed multiple partnerships around Asia.

In October, it signed two memoranda of understanding with Taiwanese companies, telehealth platform Eucare and AI semantic technology provider Ubestream. 

The company was also tapped by an unnamed insurance provider in Indonesia to help launch its mobile live queue solution for hospitals. 

It has also signed an MOU with MeetDoctor, a digital health platform in Cambodia.

Qmed Asia is currently raising funds via equity crowdfunding on Leet Capital.

iXensor powers Innova Medical Group's smart ovulation test

Taiwan-based mobile health company iXensor has tied up with Innova Medical Group, a global rapid test kit manufacturer, for technology integration.

According to a press release, iXensor's PixoTech technology, which turns smartphones into self-testing devices, will power Innova Medical Group's latest PHRONESIA Smart Ovulation Test.

HealthifyMe appoints Stanford prof as CMO

Indian mobile health and fitness app HealthifyMe has named a Stanford University professor and researcher as its consulting chief medical officer.

Dr Shebani Sethi brings with her a decade of experience in obesity medicine and psychiatry. She is a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she is pursuing the novel field of metabolic psychiatry. 

According to the company, Dr Sethi will help build HealthifyMe 2.0, which will put metabolic health at its core and incorporate cognitive and behavioural neuroscience elements across its products. 

Dr Sethi said she is excited to work with HealthifyMe, adding that its leadership has "wholeheartedly embrace[d] the latest research in obesity medicine, with a focus on more than just weight loss, but rather metabolic health as a holistic state of health to be achieved."

"She has already played a key role in building HealthifyPro – integrating CGMs, metabolic panels with personalised nutrition, and behaviour change strategies for our customers. Her expertise will enable us to stay ahead of the curve as we build the most advanced solution ever for fitness, fat loss, and metabolic health," CEO and co-founder Tushar Vashisht said about her appointment.
