Ambient AI medical documentation company Augmedix, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Commure, has been awarded a contract with Vizient, a healthcare performance improvement company, for Augmedix’s AI suite.

With Augmedix Go offering, Vizient’s provider clients will have access to a scalable AI documentation product that immediately drafts medical notes from natural clinician-patient conversations.

The aim is to reduce administrative burden and improve operational efficiency allowing providers to enhance clinician and patient experiences and patient outcomes.

Augmedix Go supports ambulatory and acute care settings across multiple specialties and integrates with over 50 EHRs, including Epic, Oracle Health and Meditech.

The Vizient contract catalog will now include the full Augmedix product suite, including Augmedix Go, Augmedix Assist and Augmedix Live offerings.

In a statement, Vizient said that it serves more than 65% of the nation’s acute care providers, 97% of academic medical centers and 35% of the non-acute market, representing $140 billion in annual purchasing volume.

Vizient’s customer base includes pediatric facilities, community hospitals and integrated health delivery networks.

"We are excited to introduce Vizient’s provider clients to the transformative potential of Ambient Clinical Documentation," Ian Shakil, founder of Augmedix and chief strategy officer of Commure, said in a statement.

“We are aligned with Vizient’s commitment to enhance healthcare delivery, and we aim to deliver products that allow even more clinicians to prioritize patient needs by reducing the distractions of administrative tasks."

THE LARGER TREND

Augmedix stock is currently listed at $2.35 per share.

In 2024, Audmedix's stock price dropped more than 40% after reporting it observed a slowdown in provider purchasing commitments and downgrading its 2024 full-year revenue outlook from $60 to $62 million to $52 to $55 million. Yet, the company beat estimates of its revenue growth, with a 40% increase in the first quarter, to $13.5 million, compared to $9.6 million during the same period last year.

That same year, Augmedix became fully integrated into virtual care and communication organization Andor Health’s ThinkAndor platform. The partnership enabled physician notes to be created directly within ThinkAndor Virtual Visit allowing AI-generated notes to be available seconds after a virtual visit.

In 2024, Augmedix achieved Oracle validated integration with industry healthcare expertise for its integration of its full suite of products, which transform natural conversations into organized draft medical notes, structured data and point-of-care notifications. As a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) the integration enabled Augmedix’s products to be offered to network customers.

In 2024, Commure acquired digital care navigation platform Memora Health. The aim of the alliance was to integrate Memora's patient navigation tools with CommureOS's proprietary integration engine. The combined platform allows healthcare organizations to individualize patient care pathways and drive improved clinical and operational outcomes.
