MassChallenge HealthTech in partnership with Anthem have announced the winners for the Fast Track to Scale Accelerator 2020 program. The three companies recognized as Diamond, Platinum and Gold Award winners are ianacare, DynamiCare and Karuna Health, respectively.

The Fast Track to Scale Accelerator program matches global entrepreneurs with representatives from Anthem to find innovative solutions that improve individual health and well-being and enhance the overall health care experience.

“At Anthem we are always looking for ways to simplify health care and improve the lives of the communities we serve,” Mariya Filipova, VP for innovation at Anthem, said in a statement. “The Fast Track to Scale Accelerator allows us to source and validate high-quality solutions at record speed with key input from some of the most innovative employers. The accelerator provides high potential start-ups with the two mission-critical components for success: access to relevant problem statements and engaged decision-makers.”

The original 126 competitors were whittled down to five to compete in the challenge. The participants were judged on their speed to market.

Ianacare received top honors as the Diamond Award winner for being the fastest to integrate within the existing digital suite of solutions that reach end-users in local communities.

The free app serves as a point of coordination for a patient’s family and friend caregivers to organize tasks such as dropping off groceries, picking up medications from the pharmacy, virtual check-ins and emotional connections.

After five months in the program, ianacare launched in May as part of a suite of resources on the Anthem coronavirus resources page.

DynamiCare came in as the Platinum Award winner for its digital substance use disorder-recovery program. The digital program gives people recovering from opioids, alcohol and tobacco addiction access to an individually-matched coach, substance-testing capabilities, financial rewards for healthy behavior decisions, and portals that healthcare providers and support systems can view to assess progress.

Karuna Health was the Gold Award winner for its platform that streamlines patient communication with a collaborative inbox for SMS, MMS, calls, voicemail and more. All health messages can be kept in one place with the Karuna app, which syncs to both mobile and desktop views.

Anthem has established paths to scale for the Platinum and Gold winners. The two finalists, Moving Analytics and Sana Health, will continue to work with Anthem to create future paths to scale.
