Maven, a virtual clinic for women’s and family health, has announced the four physicians who will make up its Scientific Advisory Board: Dr. Mary E. D’Alton, Dr. Brian Levine, Dr. Laura Riley and Dr. Neel Shah.

The board will work with the Maven leadership team to grow and improve the platform’s clinical programming across fertility, maternity, and parenting and pediatrics.

Maven’s Scientific Advisory Board members bring expertise in women’s health, specifically in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and fertility.

Dr. D’Alton is chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Willard C. Rappleye Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She specializes in maternal fetal medicine and has a focus on patients with high-risk pregnancies due to complex maternal or fetal conditions.

Dr. Levine is a founding partner and the practice director of the Colorado Center of Reproductive Medicine in New York. He is board-certified in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility, as well as obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Riley is the Obstetrician and Gynecologist-in-Chief at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital, as well as the chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine. She has also authored two pregnancy books for consumers called "You and Your Baby: Pregnancy" and "You and Your Baby: Healthy Eating During Pregnancy."

Dr. Shah is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology at Harvard Medical School and a founding director of the Delivery Decisions Initiative at Harvard’s Ariadne Labs. He also works as an OB/GYN at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and serves on national advisory boards of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Office of Women's Health Research at the National Institutes of Health.

Medable, a startup building tools to support decentralized clinical trials, recently announced the hire of Parag Vaish as chief product officer.

Vaish has extensive product development experience through his past roles at companies such as Tesla, Epocrates, Stubhub, Google and Microsoft. During his time at Tesla as head of digital product, he led the company’s addition of advance deposits, nearly paperless transactions and personalized home delivery.

In his new role at Medable, Vaish will work to advance the company’s mission to put patients at the center of clinical trials by removing inefficiencies that can be intimidating for patients and cumbersome for clinicians.

The nonclinical healthcare staffing solutions company Harmony Healthcare has added a new chief executive officer to its leadership team with the appointment of Randy Verdino.

Verdino comes to Harmony Healthcare with more than 35 years of experience in the professional services industry, with two decades of that time spent in executive leadership. He spent more than a decade at TEKSystems as vice president, where he led operations and strategy for the company’s global professional services. During that time he increased the division's annual revenue by $500 million.

Fern Health, a digital musculoskeletal therapy platform provided through employers, has named Brad Lawson as its new CEO.

He will bring experience in employer health management, payer health systems, venture capital and digital health business growth to this position. Before coming to Fern, Lawson was an executive in residence at Avia Health Innovation and Abundant Venture Partners.

In his new role, Lawson will lead strategic decisions around product and sales strategy to further the company’s integration in employer health offerings.

Behavioral health company SonderMind has added two new appointees to its executive team with the addition of Corley Hughes as chief financial officer and Nabeel Meghji as chief product officer.

Hughes joins SonderMind from &Then, a brand design studio, where she was a cofounder. She has also held roles at Microsoft, Glossier and Product Hunt. In her new role, Hughes will lead the company’s financial strategy, planning and company operations.

Meghji is joining SonderMind in its newly created CPO role, where he will lead efforts to refine and improve the company’s product offerings. He comes to SonderMind after serving as the CPO at DispatchHealth.

Women’s telehealth company Twentyeight Health has expanded its leadership team with new hires Livia Keseman as strategic projects manager and Eric Whitten as head of engineering.

Prior to this appointment Keseman served as the head of North American business development for Byteflies. She will be responsible for overseeing new product launches, company expansion into new states and forming new business partnerships.

Whitten brings more than 15 years of experience to his new role, from serving as the director of Golf Genius Software, as a web developer for Grazr and as the chief systems architect at netEconomist. At Twentyeight Health, he will lead the company’s engineering team in scaling the company’s telemedicine platform for sexual and reproductive care.
