Oshi Health, a digital gastrointestinal health company, announced it scored $60 million in Series C funding in a round led by Oak HC/FT.

The round also included existing investors CVS Health Ventures, Flare Capital Partners, Takeda Digital Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners and First Cressey Ventures.

WHAT IT DOES

Oshi Health provides patients with gastrointestinal issues with virtual access to a team of providers, including a gastroenterologist, behavioral health clinician, dietitian and health coach.

The company supports patients with Crohn's Disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and ulcerative colitis. It also offers a symptom-tracking tool and instant messaging with providers.

The company, launched in 2020, says it is an in-network virtual GI clinic available in all 50 states and works with numerous in-person GI practices across the U.S. It also works with employers, health systems and health insurance partners.

Oshi will use the funds to expand its partnerships with provider groups and new employers. It will also work to grow its coverage among payers and expand into Medicare populations starting in 2025.

"We have proven the transformative ability of our model to fill the gaps in care and create value for everyone involved, and we are excited to have the support of healthcare’s leading investors as we scale to free millions of people from their suffering," Sam Holliday, Oshi CEO, said in a statement.

MARKET SNAPSHOT

In 2023, Oshi garnered $30 million in Series B funding, just two years after securing $23 million in Series A funding.

A week before Oshi announced its $30 million raise last year, Aetna, the insurer owned by CVS Health, announced a partnership with Oshi to enable commercial members with select Aetna plans in  Maine, Florida, Ohio, Massachusetts, Texas and Pennsylvania to access the virtual GI support platform as an in-network provider.

In 2022, virtual care company Firefly Health partnered with Oshi to provide digital digestive care to its members.

Solera Health, a digital platform offering a marketplace for benefits and chronic disease management programs, also announced that it will offer gastrointestinal-focused digital health products from Oshi.
