Circular, maker of smart ring technology, announced its next-generation wearable, the Ring 2, which includes ECG capability with its FDA-cleared AFib detection algorithm that provides real-time heart health data to wearers.

The titanium Ring 2 – available in gold, silver, black and rose gold – also includes digital ring sizing, sleep stage analysis and a wireless charging dock. Digital ring sizing uses the wearer's smart phone to ensure the proper fit before one orders their ring.

The company says the new ring's features also include enhanced sensors that help more accurately track health metrics, a full eight-day battery lifespan, and an updated and redesigned accompanying app.

"With the Circular Ring 2, we've reimagined what a smart ring can be combining advanced health technology with timeless design and unmatched durability. This isn't just a wearable; it's a statement piece that empowers our users to take control of their wellness without compromising on style. We're thrilled to introduce a product that's as beautiful as it is intelligent," Amaury Kosman, cofounder and CEO of Circular, said in a statement.

South Korean digital health startup VIV Health unveiled its new wearable, the VIV Ring, which includes generative sleep-aid sound technology that analyzes biometric data, sleep patterns and sleep cycles.

The ring also "prioritizes" natural sounds, including recordings of deep-sea acoustics, rainfall in forests, ocean waves and bird songs, combined with monaural and binaural sounds.

The generative sleep aid sound technology analyzes the biometric data collected from the ring  the wearer's sleep patterns and cycles. It uses AI to construct personalized sleep audio aimed at improving the wearer's sleep.

VIV Ring also includes AI-enabled healthcare predictions, and an accompanying app. It can also integrate with Apple Health. The ability to integrate with the Android app is scheduled for February of this year.

The ring will go on sale in February, and the company says it is in the process of seeking regulatory certifications.

"With its debut at CES 2025, the VIV Ring aims to differentiate itself from other smart ring manufacturers like Oura, Galaxy Ring and Ultrahuman by offering biometric measurement and monitoring and introducing the world's first generative sleep aid sound technology integrated within a smart ring. This marks a significant step in VIV Health's entry into the global market with a product focused on wellness," the company said in a statement.
