Women's telehealth company Wisp announced a strategic partnership with food as medicine platform Nourish to allow Wisp patients to access nutrition counseling services via their health insurance or an exclusive self-pay rate

The aim is to make it easier for women looking for a more holistic approach to weight management to access nutrition support at an affordable price.

In addition, patients enrolled in Wisp’s new weight care program can merge medical weight loss treatments with personalized nutrition counseling from Nourish.

The program offers prescriptions for GLP-1s, such as semaglutide (Wegovy) subcutaneous injectable medication, compounded semaglutide subcutaneous injectable medication, compounded sublingual semaglutide and metabolic support and GLP-1 boost capsule.

With Nourish, Wisp patients are paired with a registered dietitian who provides them with a personalized care plan, actionable coaching, recommendations and progress tracking. Additionally, Nourish patients will receive exclusive access to a discount on prescription and over the counter solutions through Wisp.

"We launched our weight care vertical because we saw a significant gap in the market for affordable, comprehensive solutions tailored to women experiencing hormonal weight gain," Wisp CEO Monica Cepak told MobiHealthNews in an email.

"This new partnership builds on that vision and Wisp’s overall mission of meeting women exactly where they are in their healthcare journey. By integrating personalized nutrition coaching, supplements, and effective weight-loss prescriptions, we're offering a more holistic approach so that women feel empowered to take control of their health."

THE LARGER TREND

This month, as part of a series where digital health executives revealed their biggest takeaways from 2024, Cepak told MobiHealthNews that women's healthcare is continuing to evolve with a focus on reproductive rights and access to care in a post-Roe world.

She said advances in telehealth, wearables and AI are empowering women to take control of their health while growing attention is being given to chronic conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause.

In August, Wisp announced that it surpassed one million patients and achieved a four-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 69%. The company said it introduced over ten new products, including a fertility vertical and its Wisp+ Membership Program in 2024.
In September, Nourish partnered with Modify Health to expand its food as medicine program. Through the alliance, individuals across the country order medically tailored meals prescribed by registered dietitians directly through the Nourish platform, helping to overcome both geographical and financial barriers to food security.
