XRHealth, a company offering immersive therapeutics, announced it enhanced its offerings by launching an AI-powered extended reality (XR) platform that integrates AI technology within a comprehensive therapeutic system.

The aim is to allow clinicians to transition between various therapeutic settings for optimized treatment outcomes.

At the center of the platform is the AI generator space, which enables the creation of custom 360-degree environments tailored to individual therapeutic needs.

One feature allows for the generation of dynamic avatars, using AI and XR to further amplify patient interaction and personalization.

According to the company, the XRHealth platform empowers clinicians with customized treatment plans that enhance patient engagement and improve clinical outcomes across multiple therapeutic areas. 

Besides the AI Generator Space, XRHealth incorporates AI into three other vital areas of its platform, including AI Treatment Search, which delivers targeted suggestions by pointing out the most pertinent environments for specific conditions, and AI Reports Analysis, which automatically creates detailed insights from therapy sessions by comparing real-time data with patient history, past interactions and industry benchmarks.

In addition, an AI Treatment Plan provides clinicians with individualized treatment suggestions based on data analysis, with the aim of improving therapeutic strategies and patient outcomes.

THE LARGER TREND

Earlier this year, XRHealth's CEO was a guest on Psychiatry XR, a podcast on medical extended reality's use in psychiatric care cohosted by MobiHealthNews' executive editor, where he was asked if he sees AI being useful in creating virtual environments that can be made by clinicians on the fly.

"Of course, and I think it is one of the things that without a doubt will happen, the only question is when?" Orr said. "If we can do that and provide the clinicians basically an endless amount of environments and anything that they want, they just speak their mind and that's it, that just happens."

Earlier this month, XRHealth acquired cognitive training VR platform NeuroReality and its assets, including its main product, Koji's Quest. 

In January, XRHealth secured $6 million in funding, led by Asabys Partners, with participation from NOVA Prime Fund and the company's current investors. 

The funding was used to create technologies like an AI clinician that was designed to push the boundaries of how VR/AR will be used in the digital healthcare space. 

In 2023, XRHealth's CEO told MobiHealthNews that patients need to know from the beginning when something is AI-based and not an actual clinician. 

Orr noted that there needs to be full disclosure to patients when that is the case. He said, "the industry needs to bridge the gap from where we are today in terms of AI tools; however, healthcare doesn't have room for errors – it needs to be fully reliable from the beginning."

In 2022, XRHealth raised $10 million in funding from HTC, Bridges Israel, AARP, crowdfunding on StartEngine.com and existing investors. It scored $9 million in 2021 and $7 million in April 2020.
