HHS appoints Susannah Fox as CTO: Just two weeks after our last hiring roundup, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that it had appointed longtime patient advocate and Pew Research alum Susannah Fox as its new CTO. Fox has also been an early and important voice in the emerging mobile and digital health. Former Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick and Teva exec join American Well board: Telehealth company American Well added Governor Patrick, who is also now a Managing Director at Bain Capital, to its board of directors. The company also appointed Brendan O'Grady, President and CEO, North America Generics, at Teva Pharmaceuticals to its board.
Global Kinetics hires reimbursement and business developments execs: Mobile health technology company, Global Kinetics Corporation, which recently received FDA clearance for its clinical grade activity tracker Personal KinetiGraph, has added two new executives. Medical device reimbursement expert Peter Lynch is now the company's Head of Global Market Access. Lynch formerly helped guide reimbursement strategy at Medtronic Diabetes. Phil Roeser has also joined the company as Executive President of North America. Roeser previously worked in various roles at Hill-Rom, Fresenius and Medtronic. He will lead sales and marketing for the company on the continent.
McKesson Corporation hires new SVP of Corp Public Affairs: McKesson, which has been an active lobbyist on Capitol Hill about all things digital health, announced that it had hired Pete Slone as its senior vice president, corporate public affairs. Slone was most recently with Medtronic where he was VP of Global Government Affairs for more than 13 years. At McKesson he will be the company's chief external policy representative and head up the McKesson PAC.
Pharma adds board members to 3D4Medical following investment: As part of its $16.4 million investment in 3D4Medical, pharma company Malin will appoint three directors to the company's board, including John Herlihy, former Head of Google Ireland.
Calgary Scientific hires new CFO and Microsoft exec: Calgary Scientific, which, among other things, is a pioneer in mobile device-accessible medical imaging software, has hired Dave Galiotto as its Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Operations. Galiotto was most recently managing global sales operations at Seagate subsidiary EVault. Calgary also hired Dave Waldrop as its Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Waldrop joins Calgary Scientific after 18 years at Microsoft, where he most recently focused on advising startup and Fortune 500 companies on strategic level sales, marketing and partnering initiatives.
CellTrak hires its first CTO: CellTrak Technologies, a mobile health care company focused on the home health care market, hired Brian Murnane as its first Chief Financial Officer. Murnane was most recently at Itentive Healthcare Solutions, a clinical and practice management solution provider.
