Carrum Health, a digital marketplace for employers to purchase bundled healthcare services, announced its Center of Excellence network will be integrated into healthcare navigation platform apree health's partner network for employees to access affordable surgical and cancer care.
California-based Carrum Health provides a value-based digital platform for self-funded employers. The company offers a Center of Excellence network that gives employees access to a care specialist who coordinates and guides them through the surgical and cancer treatment process.
Data-driven healthcare navigation platform apree health is a combination of health navigation company Castlight Health and coordinated primary care company Vera Whole Health.
The Washington-based company offers digital engagement and advanced primary care via its platform dubbed apree foundation, a cloud-native healthcare data and technology platform that aggregates healthcare data.
The company partners with organizations to help with healthcare navigation and forms partnerships with digital health companies.
"By adding Carrum Health’s COE and cancer program to our robust ecosystem partner network, we’re providing employers with an integrated experience that increases engagement and helps individuals access the right benefit for them at the moment when it matters the most," Tamar Rudnick, senior vice president of Growth at apree health, said in a statement.
THE LARGER TREND
Carrum announced it scored $45 million in Series B funding in May to expand its oncology benefits offerings and scale its surgical care service lines. In 2021, the company closed a $40 million Series A funding round.
The San Francisco-based company has forged several partnerships, including with Hinge Health, unveiling an end-to-end musculoskeletal solution that joined Hinge's digital musculoskeletal clinic with Carrum's Center of Excellence platform.
Last year, Carrum was added to employee-focused care navigation and pharmacy benefits platform Rightway's ecosystem partnership program, RightwayHub.
In 2021, Morgan Health, JP Morgan Chase’s healthcare business, invested $50 million in Vera Whole Health.
In September, Castlight Health, as part of apree health, added other digital health partners to its network, including mental health startup Brightline and fertility company Kindbody.
