Some 39 percent of Chief Medical Information Officers have rolled out mobile computers or handhelds at their facilities, according to a recently published survey in CMIO Magazine. The publication surveyed 212 CMIOs between May 3 and June 2 of this year. Respondents:

39 percent have these devices installed
26 percent will implement them in 2010
9 percent expect to purchase in 2010
15 percent expect to purchase in 2011
22 percent have no plans to acquire
