MotherKnows, an online health record service that allows parents to view their child's medical records via the web or mobile applications, announced this week that is it has raised $1.7 million in seed funding, reports TechCrunch. The round was led by First Round Capital.
Other contributors include Giza Ventures, Charles River Ventures, The Band of Angels, Maneesh Arora (formerly of Google Health), and anonymous angel investors.
MotherKnows, currently in beta, gives parents 24-hour access to their children’s health records, including immunizations and allergies to doctor visits and growth charts. Third party access, including doctors, caregivers, can be given through parents. A public launch of the service is scheduled for late summer, according to Co-founder and CEO Hesky Kutscher.
MotherKnows future plans include targeting “other consumer groups with specific health needs, such as home health care, extended families, and more," said Kutscher.
