WebMD Health ServicesBlue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has inked a deal with WebMD's Health Services to offer members a digital health and wellness program. Blue Cross and Blue Care Network members will also have access to a portion of this new program.

WebMD's Health Services program helps employers and health plans provide employees and members with information about their benefits, biometric screenings powered by BioIQ, health assessments, a digital assistant, and health-related content. These tools will be added to BCBS of Michigan's wellness program, which allows members to check their coverage, monitor claims activity, and shop for doctors as well as health care services.

"Employers know the value of wellness programs, and how the right program can help their employees get healthier and ultimately, help better manage overall health care costs,"Ann Baker, vice president, Wellness and Care Management at Blue Cross said in a statement. "With WebMD Health Services, we'll be able to offer our employers and members an engaging, digitally robust and integrated wellness experience."

This isn't the first time a Blue Cross Blue Shield organization has worked with WebMD Health Services. In November 2012, Independence Blue Cross (IBC), a Pennsylvania insurance company, partnered with WebMD to launch a digital offering for its members.
