Consultmed releases gen AI-powered Advice & Guidance feature

Consultmed has introduced a generative AI-based clinical decision support tool on its referral management software.

Available as an add-on or standalone product, the new Advice & Guidance AI feature leverages Microsoft's OpenAI to present relevant clinical guidelines and policies based on presenting complaints and reasons for referral.

Based on a media statement, the AI can tap into a customisable database of clinical guidelines, allowing it to use approved guidelines from an individual hospital or various organisations.

"It streamlines search, accuracy, and utility of [many clinical and research guidelines and protocols] and makes them readily available for your providers, patients, and consumers," founder and CEO Vikram Palit explained in a LinkedIn post.
