Medavie Blue Cross (MBC) announced an enhanced version of its digital health and wellness platform Connected Care, which includes access to its partnership with Beyond ADHD.

Beyond ADHD uses an evidence-based, multi-modal approach to treatment that includes medication and personalized academic and workplace accommodations. Users undergo an ADHD assessment, book an appointment with a nurse practitioner to determine a treatment plan and maintain follow-up appointments to monitor one's progress.

As a result of the partnership, Connected Care will be fully integrated into the Blue Cross Mobile App, an upgrade that the company says simplifies navigation, thereby making it easier for plan members to quickly find the services they require and resolve issues sooner.

Additionally, the platform offers a more thorough view of overall wellness by seamlessly linking physical, mental and financial health resources.

Connected Care includes programs and services that tackle mental wellness and innovative therapy options, condition-specific health coaching and targeted assessments, telemedicine, and lifestyle and financial well-being issues.

"Medavie Blue Cross is committed to making health care more accessible and personalized for our members," Catherine Biermann, manager of digital product solutions and partnerships at Medavie Blue Cross, said in a statement.

"Many members facing a chronic condition or specific health concern may feel unsure of where to start, often unaware of the link between physical and mental health. Connected Care is designed to address whole-person wellness, helping members find the right resources and take informed, proactive steps toward better health."

THE LARGER TREND

In April, Medavie Blue Cross partnered with sanoLiving to provide sanoMidLife to its members, a platform that supports women through every stage of menopause. With the new service, MBC and sanoLiving aim to open the conversation on menopause, reduce stigma and give women the ability to access the care they need.

In January, Medavie Blue Cross opened Medavie Benefits+ in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The service model offers current and potential members access to benefits specialists who can support members in their health and wellness initiatives as they use their benefits.
