athenahealth has announced that it will be providing its revenue cycle management services to Summit Medical Group (SMG), New Jersey’s largest independently operated, multispecialty medical group. SMG serves patients in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area and will be deploying athenaCollector, the Company’s cloud-based physician medical billing and practice management service, to more than 230 medical providers in its growing New Jersey health network.

Nexidia, a provider of audio search and speech analytics solutions, announced that Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield has selected its Enterprise Speech Intelligence (ESI) solution to support the company in determining enhancements to its service centre operations. The solution will be implemented with Nexidia OnDemand, which is hosted in Nexidia's scalable and highly secure, PCI-compliant network operations centre.

Capsule, a provider of medical device connectivity, announced that they have added more than 70 devices in just nine months to the largest device driver list in the industry.  This list has enabled Capsule to physically connect more than 50,000 devices in more than 650 hospitals, demonstrating the reliability of its medical device integration solution.

CHARGE Anywhere, a provider of mobile payment solutions and payment gateway services, announced the updated release of CHARGE Anywhere for Android, a free payment application for Android smartphones. The application can be downloaded from the Android Market.

Black Box Corporation, a provider of voice communications, data infrastructure and networking products, announced the launch of its new ServSwitch Agility DVI, USB and Audio over IP Extenders that enable keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) extension over virtually any distance using existing network infrastructure to efficiently deliver IP traffic, including perfect digital video quality over unlimited distances.

Voalté announced that Texas Children’s Hospital will become the first pediatric facility in the country and the first hospital in Texas to use iPhones with Voalté’s innovative solution for point-of-care communication. The hospital will roll out iPhones in the new West Campus facility and maternity center over the next few months. The Voalté application consolidates voice, alarm and text on the versatile iPhone platform.
 
Medicity, the developer of health information exchange technology, announced that Overlake Hospital Medical Center, in Bellevue, Wash., will implement the full Medicity suite, including MediTrust Cloud Services, ProAccess Community and the Novo Grid to enable the exchange of health information across its community, with the broader goals of collaborating with other hospitals and the State HIE as soon as it is operational.

InterSystems Corporation, the maker of software for connected healthcare, announced that the Healthcare Information Xchange of New York (HIXNY) has completed implementation of InterSystems HealthShare as its core health information exchange (HIE) platform. A member of the State Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), HIXNY serves healthcare facilities and patients throughout 17 counties in the Albany region and northern New York State

Viztek announced that Southwest Diagnostic, an advanced, multi-site, multi-modality imaging center, has selected its Opal-wRIS web-based RIS solution for comprehensive imaging exam and business management. The new Viztek solution offers important, technologically advanced features that will help the busy site realize significant workflow efficiencies and provide unique referring physician conveniences, while integrating seamlessly with its existing Opal-RAD PACS.

Carestream Health announced that Naval Medical Center San Diego has purchased its radiology and cardiology PACS and Clinical Data Archive solutions. The San Diego facility is a premier teaching hospital and referral center for the Armed Forces and one of the largest Navy medical facilities in the nation. In addition to the main Naval base, the multi-disciplinary healthcare system includes 11 primary care clinics and 10 dental clinics.

CareTech Solutions’ Data Center Hosting Services have been exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association. AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of AHA, awards the AHA endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations achieve operational excellence. Information technology (IT) professionals certified by CompTIA, the non-profit trade association for the IT industry, have a new option to keep their certifications current and their skills up to date. The association has launched the CompTIA Continuing Education Program, a cost-effective method for keeping certifications current through the completion of a variety of activities that demonstrate relevant industry knowledge. The program is currently available to individuals worldwide who are certified in any version of CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+.
