GoqiiGoqii has raised $13.4 million in a round led by New Enterprise Associates and Cheetah Mobile with participation from Great Wall Club (GWC), DSG Consumer Partners, Ilkka Paananen, and Pravin Gandhi for its health coaching service, according to TechCrunch.

The company is headquartered in Menlo Park, California with offices in Mumbai, India and Shenzhen, China. It is developing a health coaching program, available on iOS, Android, and Windows devices, that allows users to track and improve their health. Users can track their meals, water intake, steps, and sleep. They can view this data and their progress in the app's health history section. Goqii matches users with a screened health coach who helps users set goals, stay motivated, and form new habits.

When users meet their goals, Goqii gives them karma points, which they can use to donate money to international relief efforts that are sponsored by the company's partner, Oxfam International. The karma point system is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's 390-kilometer journey, according to the company website, so for every 390 steps users track, they earn one karma point.

The subscription to Goqii's program comes with a water resistant fitness tracker that offers a seven-day battery life, though the company says if users already have a fitness tracker they like, they should use that one. Some of the trackers that Goqii syncs with include Fitbit, Jawbone, and Garmin devices. Goqii launched a beta program this year and plans to launch its offering publicly in early 2016.

Goqii will use the funds to expand its offering into the US and China.

The company's founder and CEO Vishal Gondal previously founded IndiaGames, which was acquired by Walt Disney Company in 2012 for $100 million.
