Seattle-based patient engagement and education provider MedBridge has partnered with SaaS and billing services company Casamba. Clients who use Casamba's TherapySource practice management software in outpatient therapy clinics can now access MedBridge's customizable patient engagement programs without the need to log in to separate systems. Miami-based TreatMD, a telemedicine company that uses a platform approach to connect patients and physicians around the world, was acquired by site-to-site telemedicine technology group GlobalMed. UK-based digital health company Inhealthcare is now working with Medway Community Healthcare to provide remote monitoring services to people who are self-managing cardiac health. Using Inhealthcare’s telehealth platform, Medway patients who have been prescribed the anticoagulant Warfarin for longterm use and currently self-test their blood can now manage their condition completely remotely, freeing up time they would otherwise have to spend going to the doctor as well as reducing pressure on the healthcare system. Google-backed Quartet Health, which uses technology to promote collaborative care for mental health conditions, will work with Humana to improve the mental and physical health of New Orleans residents. The initiative is part of Humana's Bold Goal initiative to make its communities 20 percent healthier by 2020. Humana and Quartet chose New Orleans because it has a high incidence of chronic conditions, which are often associated with depression, and few resources to address behavioral health disparities. Japanese digital health company Welby has collaborated with Janssen, a pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson, to develop a mobile app for people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. The app will be available on iOS and Android throughout Japan. The app is part of Janssen’s Healthy Mind program, an initiative to reduce stigma around mental health in the Asia Pacific region. The pharmaceutical company previously developed apps with Welby for use by patients with prostate cancer and chronic pain, and is looking to expand into more therapeutic areas. More
