According to a report in Politico, the Trump administration has chosen a new Chief Technology Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services, the post originated by Todd Park and most recently held by health anthropologist Susannah Fox. Bruce Greenstein, the former head of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, has been tapped for the post according to Politico.
Greenstein was indicted for perjury in 2013 during a probe into the state’s handling of Medicaid claims, but the case against him was dismissed by the state Attorney General. He does have a technology background: Prior to his government work he was a managing director at Microsoft and since he left government he served a short stint at behavioral health startup Quartet Health, according to his LinkedIn.

Stephen Wray, who recently served as CEO for life sciences services company MNG DIrect, will replace founder Brendan McCorkle, who will transition into the role of president and chief innovation officer.

Digital cardiac imaging and diagnostic company HeartFlow has hired Michael Buck in the role of executive vice president and chief commercial officer. A longtime healthcare veteran, Buck has held leadership roles at Cardinal Health, Abbott Laboratories, Novoste Corporation, Boston Scientific, and Smith & Nephew.

Both Meer and Humphrey have previously worked at Appirio and Salesforce in finance and human resources roles, respectively.

Integrity Applications, the noninvasive glucose monitoring company that changed up most of its executive slate at the end of March, has announced one more executive hire: David Podwalski is joining the company as Chief Commercial Officer. A 20-year pharma vet, Podwalski most recently served as a consultant at Ernst and Young. Prior to that he facilitated the launch of the Lantus Insulin Pen for Aventis.

Telemedicine company Zipnosis announced that its Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rebecca Hafner-Fogarty has been named to a one year appointment with the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) committee on ethics and professionalism.
