Connected-care-device and services company VivaLNK has partnered with healthcare engineering and tech firm Mazzetti to supply pop-up hospitals, clinics and senior centers with patient monitoring tools. These include VivaLNK's wearable vitals sensors and a connected provider platform, which the companies say will help reduce unnecessary disease exposures within these settings.

“As the pandemic continues to be unpredictable, we’re preparing for the need to set up rapid response situations for patient monitoring,” Walt Vernon, CEO of Mazzetti, said in a statement. “Deploying this technology ensures our local health system is prepared to handle the patient flow while maintaining superior care to those in need.”

DrChrono has notched another integration in its belt, this time incorporating KeepWell's remote patient monitoring and chronic care management tools into its mobile-friendly platform. The former component tracks patient vitals using connected glucometers, activity and sleep wearables, blood pressure monitors, body scales, and oximeters and displays them within DrChrono's EHR for providers. The chronic care offering, meanwhile, helps reduce administrative workloads and helps practices meet CMS requirements.

“With more physicians turning to virtual care, telehealth and EHRs that manage critical patient data are the lifelines to modern healthcare,” Daniel Kivatinos, cofounder and COO of DrChrono, said in a statement. “By adding KeepWell, DrChrono practices can focus on patient care and have access to real-time patient data, while the KeepWell team works behind the scenes to coordinate the logistics, reports and documentation.”

Patient-support and access technology company ConnectiveRx announced a strategic investment in HelpAround, a patient-facing mobile platform for specialty medication management. In doing so, the companies will be offering their technologies to clients side by side, while offering a patients in need of specialty medications and treatments a more straightforward path to support tools.

"We are advancing patient adherence by giving patients simple access to their care management when and where it fits their schedule and all in one place... their smartphone," Julia Laurin, chief product officer of ConnectiveRx, said in a statement. This not only makes the patient's care management easier and lessens the burden on healthcare provider's offices, but it also provides specialty brand managers with important insights on patient behavior and utilization of support services."

Humana and Salesforce announced a multiyear partnership that will see the Salesforce Health Cloud power Humana's Enterprise Clinical Operating Model. Built for integrated care coordination, the software platform will integrate EHR records and provide insight into clinical histories, treatment plans and preferences.

"We are thrilled to partner with Humana to power its digital transformation and connect the healthcare ecosystem across members, providers and caregivers," Dr. Ashwini Zenooz, chief medical officer and SVP of healthcare and life sciences at Salesforce, said in a statement. "With Salesforce, Humana will transform the member care experience and support the health and wellness for millions of its members."

The companies said they will also be collaborating on development of new healthcare solutions via a Boston-based innovation lab.

Florence, the maker of software that supports clinical research with remote connectivity and electronic document management, is supporting Pfizer's worldwide Phase 2/3 study of a COVID-19 vaccine. The platform noted in the announcement that the remote tools are especially welcome during the pandemic, when on-site visits are being avoided.

“It’s meaningful work to be able to support a company that’s at the forefront of innovation for the benefit of the global community," Florence CEO Ryan Jones said in a statement. "We will continue our support to help ensure Pfizer has everything it needs from a clinical trial software perspective to be successful."
