LG NOVA announced the launch of the Partner Alliance Program, a new endeavor to further innovation through cross-sector collaboration among industries to cocreate ventures and help startups scale.

The program, spearheaded by LG NOVA, LG Electronics North America Innovation Center, will focus on bringing together organizations to work with LG NOVA and its startup ecosystem to explore new concepts, validate and test those concepts, collaborate on product offerings and possibly cocreate new businesses.

It will leverage LG Electronics' resources throughout its business units and its startups and resources available through the Mission for the Future Initiative, another program within LG that works to collaborate with companies on tech innovations.

The alliance starts with partners already at the helm, including IBM, Niantic, Mayo Clinic Innovation Exchange, Fujitsu Research of America, Hyundai CRADLE and the West Virginia Department of Economic Development.

The company said additional partners will be added to the Alliance Program in the coming months.

"This program is a win-win for all parties, including LG, as we continue to explore new ideas for business co-creation. The growth of new ideas and cross-industry collaboration will help the markets move forward faster towards a better future that benefits all of us, businesses, people and the planet," Kevin Chong, LG NOVA's head of corporate and business development, said in a statement.

THE LARGER TREND

In May, LG Electronics announced the launch of a new venture, Primefocus Health, which would develop a provider-facing healthcare-delivery platform that leverages technologies and therapies to help with remote patient monitoring and provide patients access to new therapies through technology applications.

Primefocus Health would also allow providers to collect patient data, communicate with patients, track progress and intervene when needed. The offering can also integrate with a provider's electronic health record system and use AI and machine learning capabilities.

Last month, Primefocus Health announced a partnership with Marshall Health Network, a West Virginia-based academic health system, to provide a customized healthcare service solution to address regional healthcare issues, including rural care-access, obesity, healthy aging and substance abuse.

The two companies will collaborate using technology and remote monitoring services to oversee patient progress for multiple medical conditions and deliver healthcare therapies to patients in their homes.

Primefocus Health and Marshall Health Network's partnership is slated to kick off this month.
