Trucker's Body Shop has announced the launch of a comprehensive digital health platform focused on addressing the specific health needs of American truckers.

The company's telehealth platform is tailored to truck drivers who often have mobile and demanding schedules and extends to drivers' friends and family.

The platform, designed for individuals on the go, delivers assistance for weight management, access to medications and general wellness.

A telehealth platform gives users access healthcare providers, nutrition and fitness guidance, prescription deliveries and access to medications, including smoking cessation, sexual health, hair loss and weight loss drugs.

Pricing varies based on medication, dosage and length of treatment. A membership that includes weight loss services starts at $79 per month, and a semaglutide weight loss program, a long-term weight loss treatment program, costs $175 per month.

The semaglutide program includes physician support and discounts on other therapies, such as treatments for sexual health and smoking cessation.

"Truckers work long hours, cover thousands of miles and face high costs, often with limited access to healthy options—resulting in high rates of stress and obesity. Founded by truckers and led by doctors, we’re dedicated to changing this by offering accessible medical resources tailored to their schedules," Garrett Steenblik, founder and CEO of Trucker's Body Shop, told MobiHealthNews in an email. "Our mission is to help drivers improve their health and well-being so they can prioritize both family and career."

THE LARGER TREND

In 2022, trucks moved 11.46 billion tons of freight, and 8.4 million people held trucking industry-related jobs.

According to the CDC, long-haul truck drivers have a higher rate of hypertension, heart disease, obesity and diabetes compared to U.S. adult workers, and it can be difficult for truckers to live a healthy lifestyle due to long hours, irregular schedules, stress and limited access to healthy foods while on the road.

Another company offering health and wellness programs to drivers is the St. Christopher Fund. The Fund provides assistance with diabetes prevention, tobacco cessation, cancer screenings, vaccine vouchers and chronic disease management.
