Neuroflow, a behavioral health technology and analytics company, announced it acquired Intermountain Health's proprietary health analytics model.

The aim of the acquisition is to accelerate the enhancement of NeuroFlow's analytics and AI proficiencies and allow for the broad deployment of potent risk assessment models.

It will also provide more healthcare organizations with the behavioral health intelligence required to enhance clinical decision-making and health outcomes.

The deal expands and reinforces the commercial partnership between NeuroFlow and Intermountain Health that was unveiled earlier this year.

Moreover, the two organizations will continue to collaborate on the evolution of the risk complexity model, with NeuroFlow making these enhanced capabilities available to other clients in 2025.

"These sophisticated data models represent a significant step forward in our ability to help healthcare organizations more precisely and accurately identify and stratify behavioral health risks," Jeremy Kreyling, senior vice president of healthcare informatics at NeuroFlow, said in a statement.

"Incorporating the clinical data from Intermountain’s robust model into our platform will provide the context health systems and plans need to make better care decisions."

Kreyling pointed out that the model systematically uses data that is already available from multiple data sources, including patient self-reporting, disease registries, EHRs and claims, not only to stratify but to offer a more contextualized and productive integrated course of care.

"Due to the highly contextualized nature of the patient’s health and family environment, the Intermountain Mental Health Integration Care Process Model developed implementation of clinical assessments and workflow protocols that accounted for the complexity of variables and combined conditions that contribute to the shared decision support needed to effectively deliver evidence-based care," Dr. Brenda Reiss-Brennan, mental health integration implementation science senior advisor at Intermountain Health, said in a statement.

"Its proven standard clinical workflow is provided through high-functioning teams, an integrated to be allocated according to the assessed level of complexity."

THE LARGER TREND

Last year, Paramus, New Jersey-based Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, partnered with NeuroFlow to help gauge and oversee patient population risk. The aim was for the medical center to integrate NeuroFlow's workflow tools into its ambulatory care settings to enhance the identification of behavioral health needs and more efficiently distribute care resources.

NeuroFlow also partnered with Intermountain Health to help identify behavioral health needs within the health system's primary care patients in Colorado. Intermountain Health was to leverage NeuroFlow’s Integrated Care solution to support populations in the state.

NeuroFlow acquired behavioral digital health company Owl in June of 2024, expanding its measurement-based offerings to help providers identify and manage behavioral care needs.

In 2023, Headspace partnered with Intermountain Health’s value-based care subsidiary Castell to provide on-demand behavioral health services to select insurance plan members in Utah.
